A collection of different works of mine.
In this section, I have assembled samples from different projects and case studies I have worked on during my free time or as part of university projects.
The idea for this fictional project came to my mind because I always struggled to keep a travel diary and write about my day every evening. We usually keep videos or photos from our vacation on our mobile phones anyway so why not use this fact and create a digital version of a travel diary?
The main challenge was to find a solution so that users can still use the app if they are not vacationing or keeping a travel diary. On the other side, I wanted to differentiate the app from common ones which are more like travel search engines and focus on gaining profit instead of travel experience.
First, I did a little research which consisted of doing a competitor analysis and some user interviews. These mainly where about users' experiences with traveling and how they use their photos and videos after their vacation.
I opted for using a lot of images to draw the user's attention to new possible spots they could be interested in.
In the profile section, users should easily find their posts and have some sort of map, that shows them all their past journeys. This perfectly illustrates their vacations instead of having their photos kind of hidden in the photo gallery. Furthermore users should be able to keep their posts to themselves. In case users are in a new place and have no clue what to do, they can locate themselves with this app and see what other users in this area did.

An interactive map visualizes users' past vacations with their written memories, photos and videos.
Whenever I was doing my workouts, I had to use an extra fitness tracker and had to peek on another device or paper sheet to figure out my next exercise, how many repetitions and so on. On top of that, I was missing a good smartwatch app to help me store and track my routines which led me to the idea for this personal project.
At first, I was struggling to display all details and information needed for the workout and food tracking section without cluttering the screen. Furthermore the limited space on a smartwatch to display important information and UI elements was a difficult task.
At the beginning of this fictional project, I did a little research which consisted of doing a competitor analysis and some user interviews. These mainly were about users' experiences with fitness apps and how they do their workouts or tracking their vital signs.
The main focus was placed on how to integrate a workout section with a food tracking feature. After some different ideas I came up with a concept of having 3 main features.
These consist of a dashboard which includes saved workouts and the user's vitals, a food tracking feature and a section to search for and create workouts. Users can easily access them by using a tab bar at the bottom. There are a lot of important details in the dashboard, food tracking and workout section. Thus I tried many different ways of displaying this kind of information, which I showed some users to get potential feedback.
For the wearable concept I focused on getting as many details as possible onto the screen without overstraining the user with too much information. I experimented a lot with how to display details when in workout mode so that it's usable and intuitive for the user.
